Josh Klein Biography
Josh has spent a great deal of his life composing, producing, and performing
music. His musical versatility stems from study of classical piano and
orchestration, composition and performance of rock on the electric bass,
and a flexible blend of other styles which have helped to define his original
compositional voice.
Over an eight year period, Josh acquired intimate and extensive experience
with the Boston/New York music scene. He played hundreds of shows in the
Northeast, Texas and California and co-wrote, recorded, and co-produced
several albums with nationally-esteemed production teams while his most
recent band received enthusiastic online, print, and televised acclaim.
He also recorded as a session bassist on various projects during this
time.
Inspired by his experiences in the Northeast, Josh relocated to LA to
begin work with film/TV composer James Levine.
Over the past three years, he has assisted James on the hit television series The Closer, Nip/Tuck, and
Damages, as well as on the film Running with Scissors. Josh has also composed
additional music for the independent films Delta Farce and Otis and for
other TV projects such as Hidden Palms. Last year, he assisted in the
oversight of the production of recording sessions for Pirates of the Caribbean
3: At World's End, a particularly interesting opportunity. While contributing
on these various projects, Josh has cultivated his own career path through
compositions for MTV and Bravo network shows and has written genre-inspired
pieces for commercial licensing.
Ever mindful and grateful for the creative opportunities thus far afforded
to him, Josh eagerly anticipates the prospect of continuing his collaboration
with talented and innovative people and of engaging and expanding an audience's
experience through the power of music.
